Peer review: Nerves of steel with optic disc clinical decision making and referral
Ocular nerve pathology including glaucoma are complex conditions, that are not always easy to detect and diagnose. This peer review session reviews best practice investigation and management of various cases that are presented to practice and explores whether a referral is warranted.
Learning outcome(s):
Registrants will be able to work within their limits of competence when clinical signs of glaucoma are detected and refer patients accordingly when appropriate. (s.6)
Registrants will be able to determine an appropriate clinical investigation and management plan for those who
present with suspicious optic discs or optic nerve pathology. (s.7)
Registrants will understand how to work collaboratively with colleagues in the interests of patients with optic nerve pathology. (s.10).
