Mr Kanavati completed higher surgical ophthalmology training at St John Eye Hospital in Jerusalem and the UK in 1990 and undertook a subspecialty training fellowship in vitreous and retina surgery at St Paul ‘s Eye Unit in Liverpool in 1993. He acquired a wealth of clinical, healthcare management and leadership experience, working at St John Eye Hospital in Jerusalem as a consultant ophthalmic surgeon, director of clinical research and medical director as well as in private practice until 2009. Following his move to Dubai to work as a consultant ophthalmologist, Mr Kanavati returned to UK in 2012 to work as a consultant ophthalmologist, and clinical governance and audit lead at Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport. Mr Kanavati is experienced in small incision and premium advanced technology cataract and IOL implant surgery, retinal, and laser surgery.
