Damian Lake
Damian Lake is a consultant ophthalmologist specialising in refractive, cornea and cataract surgery. He has also completed a law degree specialising in the legal aspects of medical practice. Since 2008, Damian has provided a comprehensive corneal service at the Queen Victoria NHS Hospital including lamellar corneal transplantation surgeries performed with femtosecond laser, ocular surface reconstructions for complex cases including stem cell replacements and anterior segment immunological conditions. As part of this role he was the medical advisor to the eye bank at the Queen Victoria Hospital, a representative at NHS Blood and Transplantation Ocular Tissue Advisory Group, chair of the Ocular Tissue and Transplantation Standards group for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and both specialist and highly specialist commissioning groups for NHS England. Damian has worked in a variety of private practice refractive surgery environments and is now the medical director of an independent physician and optometrist owned ophthalmology group based in South East England.
