Ed Mallen is professor of physiological optics at the University of Bradford and past president of The College of Optometrists. He graduated in optometry from Aston University and completed a PhD at the same institution under the supervision of Professor Bernard Gilmartin and Professor James Wolffsohn. Ed's primary research interests are the development of refractive error, accommodation control, neural adaptation to blur and adaptive optics.
