Dr Emmanuel Ankamah is a final year PhD researcher and the in-house vision scientist at the Nutrition Research Centre Ireland within the School of Health Sciences, Waterford Institute of Technology, Ireland. He is the main researcher on the Floater Intervention Study (FLIES), which was designed to investigate the impact of supplementation with a novel nutrient formulation on visual disturbance resulting from vitreous floaters, using a robust randomised placebo-controlled trial. Prior to starting his PhD, Dr Ankamah was a practising optometrist in Ghana as the resident optometrist at Friends Eye Centre, a specialist eye clinic and partner of Unite for Sight, US.
