Irinder Khakha
Irinder is the ophthalmic director at Specsavers Opticians, Hayes and Hayes Lombardy and graduated from City University in 2008. He is the incumbent chairman of Hillingdon Local Optical Committee (LOC) and a specialist glaucoma and medical retina optometrist for the Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He sits on the London LOC forum and is an inaugural member of the Specsavers clinical forum. He is also a lead assessor for WOPEC. Irinder is an experienced pre-reg supervisor and has written, facilitated and presented CPD material at local and national conferences. He has held Specsavers group roles including head of enhanced optical services (London) and chair of the North-West London region, whilst having external roles including clinical governance and performance lead in London for Primary Eyecare Services. He has a wide range of postgraduate qualifications including an MSc in clinical optometry, diploma in independent prescribing, higher certificate in glaucoma, professional certificate in medical retina and a pending diploma in glaucoma. In 2022, He was awarded the Doug Perkins' medal for clinical excellence.
