Ivan Cammack graduated from Aston University in 1983 and is an independent optometrist and business owner in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire, leading a team of 37 staff, including 11 optometrists in three private practices. Ivan has served as primary care lead for optometry in Buckinghamshire and as local optical committee secretary. His practices resigned the NHS contract in September 2021 and became Hakim Group partners in April 2023. With a ‘hands-on' approach to eye care, Ivan prefers to use all of the optometry technology in practice personally rather than employ pre-screening assistants, which means his experience is both practical and first-hand. His particular areas of interest within optometry are myopia management, complex contact lenses and 'mature eye care' from presbyopia to progressive pathology. Ivan is a keen yachtsman, skier and cyclist, regularly using these talents to fundraise for charitable causes such as Vision Aid Overseas and Switch 180 (youth mental health).
