Rita is a Clinical Applications Specialist for the Surgical and Refractive Business at Carl Zeiss Ltd, UK. She is also a certified Orthoptist in both Portugal and the United Kingdom. Prior to her current role, she worked in a clinical environment for over 10 years performing ophthalmic diagnostic tests, patient assessments and surgery support. Working in a multidisciplinary team,  she supported doctors in the treatment and management of different pathologies such as Strabismus, Glaucoma, Retinal and Corneal diseases and Cataract and Laser refractive surgeries. At ZEISS Rita provides training for staff and medical professionals in Biometry, Intraocular Lenses Selection and Calculation, and Refractive Surgery (LASIK, LASEK/PRK, SMILE and PRESBYOND), aiming to support surgeons in the achievement of greater outcomes and higher patient satisfaction.
