Shivani started her career in optics in 2011 and graduated with a BSc(Hons) in optometry in 2014. She spent a number of years working as an optometrist in Specsavers and has always been passionate about training, teaching and mentoring fellow optometrists. She takes pride in her own professional development and has undertaken several higher qualifications, such as a postgraduate diploma in optometry and independent prescribing. Her previous roles within the sector include being a lead optometrist for a multiple, as well as an optometrist trainer for a refractive surgery provider. She has been involved in developing and training several optometrists over a number of years. Shivani has worked in the private sector as a hospital optometrist, most recently at Newmedica as an optometrist clinical in-service trainer and assessor. She was an elected council member for the AOP and is regularly involved in delivering and facilitating CPD events.
