Sonal is an optometrist with a Master’s in Public Health and expertise in learning disabilities and low vision. A senior mentor with SeeAbility, she contributed to the evidence base for NHS England's special schools eye care service. Sonal also works at the RNIB low vision centre, supporting patients alongside rehabilitation specialists. With experience spanning hospital optometry, the voluntary sector, and community practice, she has written extensively on her specialisms. As RNIB’s Eye Health Advisor, she has influenced advocacy, policy, and campaigns to improve eye care access and treatment across the care pathway.
