Stephen McAtamney started as a dentist and moved into medicine with the intention of working in oral and maxillo-facial surgery. After seeing the light, he instead decided to move into ophthalmology and has worked in Scotland, North-East England and Yorkshire before becoming associate medical director for SpaMedica in May 2023. In his spare time, he is a keen (but very average) golfer, a keen (but very slow) cyclist, likes sports teams who wear green and has recently re-found a liking for being in the sea (dressed in a wetsuit of course).
