Professor Yang is a consultant ophthalmologist and retinal specialist at Wolverhampton Eye Infirmary.  In addition to providing tertiary level retinal service, he provides high volume cataract surgery for high and low complexity cases.  He has provided cataract surgery training for regional trainees for over 20 years and has achieved the ‘trainer of the year' award several times.  Professor Yang has been involved as principal investigator on over 50 clinical trials and has published over a hundred and thirty peer reviewed articles.  He has been a visiting professor at Aston University since 2008.
